Advocacy Committee
This committee advocates for issues impacting Latinos in Higher Education. In essence this committee is defining and acting on issues such as recruitment and retention of Latinos in higher education, combating isolation and increasing academic preparation. We're organizing our efforts around institutional support, policy positions and trainings. Current efforts include developing an endorsement letter for presidents and institutions to sign acknowledging the importance of Latino succes in education at their particular site, a Report Card for Latino-Supportive Institutions, a position paper on access, particularly for undocumented students and we are developing workshops by us and for us to increase our capacity for success at and within our institutions.
Please write with your questions, comments, suggestions or to join in on any of these initatives! prez@mnlatinosinhighered.org

Submitted by Lisa SZ on Wed, 07/18/2007 - 4:42pm.Hi everyone-
Here is the e-mail that I sent out last week with an update of what we as a committee are/need to be working on. Let's begin to use this site instead of e-mail to discuss how things are going for our work.
