HACER Internship Opportunity
HACER is a Latino community-based research organization located at the University of Minnesota’s Center for Urban and Regional Affairs. For nearly twenty years, we have provided Minnesota’s Latino communities with tools and skills to create and control information to support their advocacy efforts. In this spirit, HACER engages in collaborative efforts with community members and advocates to inform policy around immigration, education, public health, housing, criminal justice and crime prevention, social welfare, employment and income disparities, public safety, community development, migrant families, and demographic change. HACER also facilitates cooperation among state agencies and nonprofit organizations that serve the Latino community, and evaluates government and nonprofit programs that target Latinos in the state
Currently HACER is offering research internship opportunities for the 2008 spring and summer semesters. The internship will provide exposure and opportunities to build experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research in a variety of areas that affect the Minnesota Latino community. Currently we are working on several projects in the health and education fields. We ask the intern to commit to approximately 10 hours per week for the semester.
Deadline: Nov 30th
