Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Bargaining Position Local 70 - $26.19/hr

The University of St. Thomas, Physical Plant is accepting applications for a full-time Mechanical Maintenance (HVAC) Engineer.
Duties include: Under the direction of the chief engineer operates and maintains all mechanical equipment, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, steam-generating equipment and accessories, kitchen equipment, maintains swimming pools, saunas and hot tubs; performs preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
Background checks will be completed in the selection process for this position. Individual must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical.   Qualifications: High School graduate, technical school training in HVAC/plumbing/boiler operations; certified swimming pool operator, certified refrigerant recovery; Minnesota State first class boiler license; working knowledge of steam-generating boilers and accessories; working knowledge of plumbing systems and hands-on ability to perform plumbing repairs; working knowledge of energy management DDC and pneumatics; ability to work in adverse temperatures.

This position is part of a collective bargaining unit. Employees in the bargaining unit must become members of the union after completing 60 work days.
