Events Coordinator and Marketing Assistant
Salary: $16.01 - $18.84 The University of St. Thomas seeks an Events Coordinator and Marketing Assistant to support the College of Applied Professional Studies. The College of Applied Professional Studies (CAPS) is the alignment of the Graduate School of Professional Psychology and the School of Education, which enables the schools to work collaboratively and to develop interdisciplinary curricula. The Coordinator plans, organizes, markets and manages all internal and external CAPS events including regional and local conferences, workshops and speakers; coordinates room reservations, food/beverage orders, and preparations; assists with execution of various marketing tasks and recruiting strategies; coordinates CAPS sponsored event logistics for outside groups utilizing CAPS facilities. This position is responsible for event marketing and communication to include producing communication pieces such as letters, flyers, mailers, brochures, promotional emails. This position is on The University of St. Thomas Minneapolis campus. Qualifications: Three years of administrative experience. Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred; experience with various databases and reporting software, preferred. Experience in a higher education setting preferred. Successful candidates will have strong computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus; ability to work on several projects simultaneously, balance priorities, and meet deadlines; excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; strong oral and written communication skills; detail oriented and time-management skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; must be self-directed, motivated, energetic, personable, and have an ability to work with diverse populations; strong team orientation and a positive attitude; possess traits of good judgment and discretion.
